MTOW as a trigger for the revision of security settings
Amongst all factors of aircraft design, weight or capacity, MTOW is an appropriate trigger for a number of reasons:•Consistent across aircraft regardless of method of propulsion.•Airframe, fuel load, passenger and baggage weight are all considered.•MTOW cannot be altered unless the aircraft is recertified by the manufacturer.
