The freight challenge

• Govt agencies have strong interest but limited

direct influence

• Influence primarily through stewardship

• Industry has critical role moving/storing freight

• Separate/interdependent

roles

• Optimum outcomes require

shared direction and

collaboration

• Open mind & process flexibility

• Establish & build partnerships

• Connect with industry

• Share information and findings

• Be inclusive - consult broadly

• Inform stakeholders & provide feedback

Enhancing HPV access • Expanding PBS 2B network

– Safer vehicles

– Capacity 70% > B-Double

– Approx. 350kms network & 1000km being assessed

– Freight significant routes & O/Ds:

• Toowoomba to PoB - 50% less HV grain movements

• Townsville - facilitate minerals & livestock to/from Port
