There is always a need for bleach at the shelter, and you may wonder why. It is the disinfectant most used to pre-vent the spread of disease. Dishes are washed in soapy water, rinsed in clear, then soaked in bleach water. Bleach is used in all the laundry (and there’s a lot of laundry to be done). Bleach is also used in the drains to clean them. Bleach is vital to the health and well-being of the ani-mals. Other needed items include • Metal dog bowls • Clean used towels, blankets, or

mattress pads

Thank you for your generous donations!

The planning it was done,

In miniscule detail.

Nothing was forgotten;

Yappy Days—it could not fail.

The hot dogs were a heatin’,

Prize baskets wrapped and bowed.

Auction items were assembled,

All were waiting for cars to unload.

But—lo!—came Mother Nature,

Without even an invite!

She brought cold air and dampness

And covered the bright sunlight.

So much for all the planning,

The ‘dogs and the pretty ties.

When all was done and over,

Mother Nature took First Prize.

But Yappy Days took Second

And that’s just not too bad!

All had a good time.

Made some money.

We’re Glad!

Thank you, Becky!

Becky Aguirre, and daughters Ilennia and Felicitas, planned

and organized the Yappy Days

event as a fundraiser for ACARF

patterned on a similar event held in Wichita.

There's just something special about Angelina. Perhaps it's

her loving nature, and the way she sweetly leans into your

outstretched hand. It might be her gorgeous, tuxedo-style

markings--or her incredibly warm and intensely-gold

eyes. One of the most outstanding things about Angelina,

however, are her whiskers. They are very white against the

very black background of her face; it's almost as if she chose

them carefully to go with her coat. Angelina is a beautiful,

unusual, and fabulously feminine cat. And she has the acces-

sories to prove it!
