Is that clear?

Yes, Ma’am.

4. Drill/Energizer/Trivia

Okay! I have here some trivia in order to

give you additional information. Do you

know that the fastest-growing fingernail is

the one on your middle finger.

Longer the fingers you have faster your

nails grow.

Discolored nails reflect the health of your

body.

Fingernails grow nearly four times faster

than toe nail.

Those are some facts about the nails. I am

expecting that you have learned something.

No, Ma’am.

5. Review

Now, before we start our new lesson, let us

have a recap of our previous discussion.

Who among you can recall our topic last

meeting?

Ma’am, our topic last meeting is all about the

nail physical structure and problems.

Exactly!

Now, give me the different parts of the nail?

Ma’am, the different parts of the nail are the

matrix, the nail root, the nail plate, the nail bed,

the free edge, the lunula, the cuticle, and the

eponychium.

You got it! Those are the different parts of

the nail. And there are five common nail

Page 4: DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN TECHNOLOGY AND LIVELIHOOD ...€¦ · GRADE 7 Topic: Implements, Equipment, Materials, and Cosmetics in Manicuring Submitted by: JUMAWAN, JUDY ANN M. DE TORRES,

problems, what are those?

Ma’am, some common nail problems are Weak

or fragile nail, Nail stains, Nail biting, Nail

shape, and White spots and ridges.

Very Good! So, how to remedy the Weak or

fragile nails?

Ma’am, weak or fragile nails can remedy with

the use of any of these nail products: Nail

hardener, nail protein formula, nail treatment,

and liquid nail wrap to strengthen nails.

Precisely! I think all of you, know the

previous discussion. So, now let us move to

our new lesson.

6. Motivation

I will play a video presentation that is

related in our topic for today. You are free

to take down important details while you are

watching the video because I will ask you

some questions later. Is that clear?

Very Good! Let us start.

Did you learn something?

Since you have learned, I am supposing that

you will answer my questions regarding in

the video. Some of you class are in the HOT

seats because I attached stickers under your

chairs. When I call your name, kindly pick

the sticker under your chair. If you got the

SMILEY sticker, you are lucky to call a

friend who will save you to answer the

question. Once you got the SABRINA

sticker, you should answer the question.

Remember, you only need to get and look

for the sticker if your name was mentioned.

Are you ready?

Yes, Ma’am.

Yes, Ma’am.

If I said, “Are you ready?” Your answer

must be, “We are future Sabrina! We are

ready!” Okay?

Are you ready?

Yes ma’am, we are ready!

Yes, Ma’am.

We are future Sabrina! We are ready!

For the first question, What is the title of the

video? Student B, pick the sticker under

your chair

(The student will pick Sabrina sticker)

The title of the video is “Make your nails

healthy and beautiful.”

Page 5: DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN TECHNOLOGY AND LIVELIHOOD ...€¦ · GRADE 7 Topic: Implements, Equipment, Materials, and Cosmetics in Manicuring Submitted by: JUMAWAN, JUDY ANN M. DE TORRES,

Very Good! What have you noticed or what

have you learned?

Student C, pick the sticker under your chair.

(The student will pick Sabrina sticker)

Ma’am, In the video presentation, I saw the

different tools in Manicure service.

Precisely! You saw the the different tools

that are used in manicure service, what are

those tools?

Student D, kindly pick the sticker.

(The student will pick the Smiley sticker)

You are lucky! Call a friend.

I call Student E.

Student E, pick the sticker.

(The student will pick the Sabrina sticker)

Ma’am, some of those tools are nail file, nail

pusher and trimmer, and nail buffer.

Exactly! Last moment, you watched how the

person used the different tools in manicure

and it seems that manicuring is an easy and

enjoyable activity especially for girls. Do

you agree that girls love beauty care?

Yes, Ma’am.

Definitely true. I know that you can always

be beautiful. By means of our hands,

nothing is possible. We can do a lot and we

can socialize well if our hands particularly

the nails have good look, neat and clean. We

should not to worry because, there are some

ways on how to clean our nails. But before

that, we need to learn first the basic things

that are used in cleaning of the nails in order

to avoid any hygiene risks.

B. Developmental Phase

1. Activity

This time, we will have an activity for you

to familiarize on the different things that are

used in Manicuring. I will group you

according to your seats. This side will be the

Group 1, the students at your back will be

the Group 2, the opposite side of the second

group will be the Group 3, and the

remaining students are the last group. I will

show you 20 words that are related in the

Time starts now. Go!

You did your activity well done. You

showed how cooperative learning works.

Group 3 got 17 points, next is the Group 2

who got 18 points, followed by the Group 4

with 19 points and the Group who excelled

in our activity. They are the Group 1. Let us

give the Group 1 an EXCEL CLAP. Are

you familiar with that?

Okay! Just follow my instruction. When I

say Excel Clap, you will clap 2 times to

your right side, then 3 times to your left

side, and another 4 claps to your front

before you point out with shout “EXCEL!”

the one who excel. Did you get my point?

Give them an EXCEL CLAP.

Thank You!

Back on what you did, the Graphic

Organizers helped you on how to classify

them. Later, I am sure that all of you can

fully understand where those tools belong

and you can easily come up on the functions

of those in manicuring.

No, Ma’am.

Yes, Ma’am.

1-2! 1-2-3! 1-2-3-4 EXCEL!

2. Analysis

All of what you have learned in the video

presentation and the activity that you did

before has a connection on our new lesson.

Who among you has an idea on our topic for

today?

Ma’am, our topic for today is all about the

Implements, equipments, materials, and

cosmetics in manicuring.

Page 9: DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN TECHNOLOGY AND LIVELIHOOD ...€¦ · GRADE 7 Topic: Implements, Equipment, Materials, and Cosmetics in Manicuring Submitted by: JUMAWAN, JUDY ANN M. DE TORRES,

Exactly! Now, let us study the classification

of different tools in manicure.

What is the four classification of tools in

different tools needed in manicure. I was so

amazed because those are not familiar and I

cannot perform what the staff doing. So, I

motivate myself to learn manicure. I asked

some experts and I also watched in the you

(The student will get question inside the box)

What do you think is the essence of

knowing the use and availability of the

implements, equipment, materials, and

cosmetics before facilitating manicure?

The essence of knowing the use and

availability of the implement, materials, and

cosmetics can help the task easier. A staff who

has a knowledge on how to use the tools can

Page 21: DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN TECHNOLOGY AND LIVELIHOOD ...€¦ · GRADE 7 Topic: Implements, Equipment, Materials, and Cosmetics in Manicuring Submitted by: JUMAWAN, JUDY ANN M. DE TORRES,

Based on your experience, what is the value

that have you learned?

The value that I have learned, we need to

familiarize on different tools and we need to

have a broad knowledge before starting

manicure. In relating to the real life, before

doing anything or before make moves, we need

to think first seriously if that is right or wrong.

Precisely! As I observed, all the questions

was confidently answered. I think you relate

our discussion to the real life situation.

4. Application

Last time, I already gave you a group. We

will have another group activity. The Group

1 will make a role play showing how to

promote those implements, equipment,

materials, and cosmetics in manicuring. The

goal of the Group 1 is to get the attention

and interest of your customer to buy your

products. Did you understand?

The Group 2 will make a jingle about the

uses of the different implements, equipment,

Materials, and cosmetics in manicuring. The

jingle must consist of two stanzas.

Understood?

Then, the Group 3 will make a reflection

about the cosmetic which is the nail polish

remover. You need to relate the nail polish

remover into your life. Your explanation

must be broad.

Last, the Group 4 will make an essay about

the picture that I will give to you.

Is that clear?

I will give you 5 minutes to brainstorm or

to do your task with your group mates and

another 2 minutes to perform or to show

your group task. I am the one who will

grade you.

Before you do task, let us discuss first the
