Celebrity Launches Fifth Phase of Five-StarAcademy for Travel AgentsThousands of travel agents will soon be seeing stars – five stars, that is. Celebrity Cruises’ Five-Star Academy’s fifth of five phases launched late last week, and the nearly 10,000 agents who arecurrently enrolled in the training program have the opportunity to earn five stars by completing it.
The multi-tiered program offers five stages of training, the first of which was launched inSeptember of last year. Each stage is named with the number of stars earned by successfullycompleting it. Each level focuses on a specific area of knowledge about Celebrity Cruises’offerings, from destinations to onboard entertainment and more.
As travel agent partners have successfully completed each level – by scoring over 80% on thetests at the end of each tier – they have had the opportunity to print a certificate noting theirdesignation as a Celebrity One-Star, Two-Star, Three-Star, or Four-Star Agent. Those travel agentswho go on to complete the fifth level will be designated a “Celebrity Five-Star Agent.” Agents whosuccessfully complete all five levels within the program will receive a “Celebrity Five-Star AcademyAgent” pin, a certificate recognizing their accomplishment, a booklet of coupons for onboarddiscounts and some tools that will help them grow their business. Some of these tools include a“Celebrity Five-Star Academy Agent” logo to place on their business card and the opportunity toearn as many as 15 Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) credits per year. Additionally, allagents who successfully “graduate” from the Celebrity Five-Star Academy will be entered into amonthly drawing for a cruise, co-op funds, and training.
Travel agents who have participated in the program have been impressed by its ability to presenta great deal of information in a simple format that makes information retention easy. LynneCurrent, with Cruise Vacations and Tours, said, “I was impressed by the easy-to-understandformat. The courses are a useful tool for both novice and seasoned agents. Even with many yearsin the business, the Academy has helped refresh and increase my basic knowledge of theCelebrity product, and has made me more adept at using Cruisingpower.com. In the end, theAcademy makes the client the real winner.”
Several travel agencies have asked all of their travel agents to participate in the Celebrity Five-StarAcademy. Travel agencies with any agent who successfully completes all five levels will bedesignated a “Celebrity Five-Star Academy Agency.”
Says Gail Bradley, who operates an independent affiliate of America’s Vacation Center,“Participating in Celebrity’s Five-Star Academy has enabled my independent agency to be evenmore qualified to assist customers when booking Celebrity Cruises vacations. This programassisted in solidifying additional bookings for my business and ensuring an increase in repeat andreferral customers.”
Travel agents can enroll at any time, and complete the five levels at their own pace. Celebrityplans to continuously refresh the program with new content, including elective courses. Theseelectives would offer additional training opportunities beyond the required five levels and theircorresponding tests.
To sign up and participate, travel agents should visit www.cruisingpower.com or speak to theirCelebrity Cruises sales representative.

Celebrity Solstice’s AquaClassSM
– Pairing the spa life with the high life.
Celebrity Cruises® is taking stateroom accommodations to a new level of sophistication with the introduction of Celebrity Solstice, set to launch in November of 2008.
Celebrity Cruises:– Engaged a panel of five boomer women, identified by the line
as “Celebrity’s Leading Ladies,” • A frequent cruiser • A travel agent, a travel writer • A hotelier • A cruise considerer– The women participated in a four-month process to make
the staterooms onboard Celebrity Solstice among the most spacious and inviting at sea.
– Key insights provided by Celebrity’s Leading Ladies: • The desire for a more relaxed, intimate shipboard
stateroom experience connected to the sea and linked to highly personalized spa elements. This led to designers coming up with an oceanside retreat called AquaClass, created for guests who are most passionate about pampering and “getting away from it all.”
Features of the AquaClass staterooms: – fog-free bathroom mirror– tall jetted bodywash shower– robust pillow menu– Light dimmers– sound and aromatic elements to enhance the
soothing power of the sea– lavish AquaClass toiletries– oversized bath towels– plush robes– unique in-stateroom entertainment– an upgraded room service menu– refreshing daily teas and bottled water
AquaClass will comprise 130 of the ship’s 1,425 staterooms:– double-occupancy only, creating the perfect
grown-up getaway– unlimited access to the AquaSpa® relaxation room
and the Persian Garden– Spa Concierge to assist in treatment bookings,
products, library and other spa related services
AquaClass guests will have their own specialty restaurant, Blu, an intimate, 130-seat specialty restaurant which touts “clean cuisine” in a soothing ambiance.
