(1) Enhanced resolution ON(2) All Print Modes are Bi-directional
NOTE: The print modes below are theoreticalexamples and may not reflect actual print modes.
The media type that is selected on the front panel of the printer, along with the print quality selection, will dictate the print mode the printer uses.
The following is a list of the print features that are affected:• Number of passes (media advance)
• Printing Resolution (dpi)
• Carriage Speed (cm/seconds)
• Color Maps
• Print Mask (Fault Tolerant print mode)
11
Designjet series Printing Speed Factors:
• Is the printer using the widest media that it can use?
• 42” vs. 60”?
• Rated at ft2 per hour?
• Orientation of the drawing• Short edge first vs. long edge first?
• Relative Humidity and/or Dry Time setting
• Higher humidity needs more time between swaths to dry
• Media type and Print Mode

designjet cc800ps When scanning thick media like foamcore, you must input the specific image size instead of selecting Automatic.
Why does the document that I am scanning, stop before it is complete?
Automatic will pass the document through the feeder to check the image size, but can not reverse the document feed for thick media.

Designjet 1000 series Multi-roll
• When installing the designjet 1000 series printer on the Multi-roll, by sure that it is completely “square” with the alignment
• 1000 series “A” version connects to the MR with the serial cable and parallel cable
• 1000 series “B” version connects to the MR with the parallel cable
• When inserting the in-feed assembly, make sure the fingers go on top of the Mylar strip. (Don’t force it)
• To test if the in-feed is in the proper position, use a piece of paper to slide in and out along the platen

Procedure to FTP a file to the printer via the jetdirect network connection:
It works best if you make a Temp directory and copy your file(s) to that directory. For example, create a directory called TEMP on your C: drive and copy all of the files you want to print to the TEMP directory.
1. Get to a DOS or COMMAND prompt on your PC and type:CD\TEMP
2. Next type: FTP 192.0.0.192 (In this example 192.0.0.192 is the IP address for the printer. Be sure to use your specific IP address for your printer)
3. You should get something like the following:Connected to 192.0.0.192220 JD FTP Server ReadyUser <192.0.0.192:<none>>:
4. Press Enter and you will be prompted for a Password:
5. Press Enter without typing anything else
You will get several lines of information one of which will probably say something like:PORT1 Print to port 1 DesignJet 5000PS (C6091A)

(STEP 5 CONTINUED)
Further down, you should see:230 User logged in.ftp>
6. At the FTP Prompt, type:PUT fname.ext (where fname is the name of the file you want to copy and ext is the file extension)
On the computer you will see 2 or 3 lines of information while it is copying and finally it should say:ftp: xxxxxxxx bytes sent in x.xxSeconds xxx.xxKbytes/sec.ftp>
You can copy more files to the printer at this point if you would like or type QUIT to exit FTP.(NOTE: If the ftp connection times out or is closed by remote host, repeat steps 2 through 5 to regain the connection)
(To quit the FTP program, type QUIT and then close the DOS window)
