Intertitles

Intertitles were used in silent films during the 1920’s, to show character dialogue.

Nowadays intertitles are used in trailers this is to give a general idea of the narrative of the trailer.

They also give important information such as the distribution institution, directors name and actors staring in the film.

Example of intertitles

A black background is conventionally used in horror trailers, to portray the same horror affect when displaying details of the film and so the typeface can clearly be seen.

This type face would go well with the theme of out trailer, as the font looks as if it has been painted on to the page, changing the colour could give it the blood and gore effect.

This typeface would not go with the trailer as the genre is slasher, also some of the letters aren’t clear.

This typeface, is similar to the first one, with the dripping of the letters, but this typeface doesn't created the same effect of the first one.
