DESIGNING A DIGIPAK

INITIAL IDEAS

I began to create a collection of already existing album covers to help inspire me with my own project. By examining successful album covers I can take influence from different ideas and colour choices which are particularly effective.

To make sure the needs of my target audience have been met is a key factor which must be represented through the digipak. To do so I made sure to look at alternatively styled album covers which differ slightly from the usual pop album as they are more creative in their use of media. This is not unusual for the indie genre which is why quite an odd, contemporary style would suit the digipak for our album.

Like this digipak, I would like to incorporate more than one type of media. Through adding illustrations I will be able to include a more creative approach to the project

which also fits the criteria of my target audience.

This is possibly my favourite example of a digipak. I think all elements flow together seamlessly which enables the audience to associate all images with

each other even if they were not composed into one final piece.
