and referring to Figure 1 for color placement; trim excess beyond seam allowance on paper sections.

2. Select one each section 1 and 2, and join to make a half block as shown in Figure 2; repeat.

3. Join the two half blocks to complete one Green Star cross block referring to Figure 3.

From green trellis floral: • cut 1 (61/4" by fabric width) strip.

Subcut into 4 (61/4") squares. cut each square on both diagonals to make 16 c2 triangles.

• cut 2 (3" by fabric width) strips.Subcut into 24 (3") squares. cut each

square in half on 1 diagonal to make 48 triangles to cover areas 6 and 7 for paper piecing.

• cut 6 (21/4" by fabric width) strips for binding.

From salmon floral: • cut 6 (31/4" by fabric width) J/K strips.• cut 2 (61/4" by fabric width) strips.

Subcut into 9 (61/4") squares. cut each square on both diagonals to make 36 c1 triangles.

From tan print: • cut 4 (6" by fabric width) strips.

Subcut into 52 (25/8" x 6") B rectangles.

• cut 96 pieces to cover areas 2 and 3 for paper piecing.

• cut 5 (11/2" by fabric width) H/i strips.

4. repeat steps 2 and 3 to complete a total of eight Green Star cross blocks and four Salmon Star cross blocks.

5. repeat steps 3 and 4 to make a second c1-B unit. Sew a c1-B unit to opposite sides of the A-B unit, matching center seams as shown in Figure 7; press seams away from the A-B unit.

6. Trim the B corners as in step 4 to complete one cross 1 block.7. repeat steps 1–6 to complete a total of 4 cross 1 blocks.8. repeat steps 2–6 to make four cross 2 blocks using three c1 and one c2 triangle referring to Figure 8.

9. repeat steps 2–6 to make four cross 3 blocks using two each c1 and c2 triangles as shown in Figure 9.
