Homework 6:

Using the computer – research and write up about the following finishes for wood.

Wax, Stain, Varnish, Oil and Paint.

Use the computer to layout your work both neatly and effectively so that you work looks interesting – maybe use pictures.

DO NOT just copy and paste information from the internet. Please write up all information in your own words,

Homework 7:

Create a step by step for the box project. Use your making diary that you have completed in class to help with this. You should show each step as if it were a set of instructions for another student making this product. Use pictures and correct tool names in your explanations to help show each step.

Make sure that all text is completed on ruled pencil guidelines and that a ruler is used wherever possible. The steps should be easy and clear to follow. Maybe get someone at home to see if they could follow your instructions too.

Once you have cast your Pewter embellishment, you have to ‘finish’ it so that there are no sharp edges or rough surfaces. On the pictures above, add a number to show the order that each step would take place and add further explanation.

Remember – the more detail the better. Comment on the type of file – the direction of movement and why you should complete each step in that order..
