Folly Project- Ship wrecks
Location near Royal Albert Dock, London, UK Task To trigger the momory of local residents and visitors about the history of London Docklands area Context Autumn 2004, University of Greenwich Year 3
All three follies represent different expression of shipwrecks.Visitors can climb up or walk into the follies as a remembrance of the old times.
Mutli-purpose activity centre
Location North Woolwich, London, UK Task To provide a centre for leisure and public entertainment for the residents near by as well as visitors from outside the area Context Spring 2005, University of Greenwich Year 3
Interior space is divided into several strips with level differences to providecross level expreience to the visitors.
The roof of the centre is connected to the Thames Barrier Park on the rightof the site. Visitors of the centre and the park can walk across both places.
The bump landscape outside serves as a transitional recreational space between the transport and the centre.

Monte Rosa

The site is situated along the slope at the back of the Monte Risa.

VTC Dormitory at Pok Fu Lam
Location Chinese Cuising Training Institute, Pok Fu Lam, HK Task The client would like to construct a dormitory for the visiting chefs and students who attended the course provided by the Institute. It is 7-storey high with 159 beds with single and double bedrooms. Roof garden is also provided and connected to adjacent building. Company wda architects ltd

This project is so challenging that it faces various problemsin diff erent aspects including the size of site, way of access, preservation of trees, building structures and the connectionto adjoining buildings.
Most part of the building are to be lifted up about 10.5m highso as to preserve the exisitng trees. The building is separatedinto 3 parts and connected by internal corridors. Double height common room are provided in order to collabrate with the largest tree on the right. Voids in between to provide natural lighting to interior at diff erent fl oor.
Roof garden and lounge is connected to adjoining traininghotel. Two connecting bridges are required to construct.
