CHANGES: A SENIOR LIVING COMMUNITYJEWELRY DISTRICT, PROVIDENCE, RI

PROVIDENCESENIOR LIVING COMMUNITY FOR RHODE ISLAND

The ideal community integrates a feeling of home, a sense of individuality. It houses a thoughtful, flexible design that maintains and strengthens its link to a larger community, while allowing freedom of movement throughout the site and surrounding neighborhoods.

With a strong emphasis on individuality, this concept of creating suburban living within an urban context relinquishes the feeling of an institutional atmosphere and provides the necessary care on an as-needed basis to the people who require it.

SAN FRANCISCOMIXED-USE SKYSCRAPER FOR CALIFORNIARevelation originated with an idea of openness, an idea of expression and exposure. With this preliminary intuition, a structure was born that is prone to manipulation and revels in change. Locating the structural elements on the exterior of the building gives us a rare opportunity to provide an open floor plan, thus enabling the programmatic features to be placed efficiently. The location of the structure also gives freedom in facade design. The iconic cantilevered structure is only possible through the exterior placement of the structural elements, which work in tandem with the outer shell to provide support for the entire composition.

Not only is the space of the architecture a visual commutable link within the public zone, a connecting/linking sense can be taken from the architectural plan and facade as well. With an exterior constructed of channel glass, the interlocking of purpose is a visual play on words like: connection, junction, communication and fellowship.

The planning of the addition brings students, faculty and museum veterans a place to com-monly dwell; a place of observation and privacy, mutuality and display. The inter-weaving of the program allows the elements ofschool and museum to act as supplements to each other.

Project Total = Approximately 4,000,000 GSF

Located at the confluence of the north, south, and main branches of the chicago river, Wolf Point is the most sought after site in all of Chicago. Our goal was to create a building location that builds on and reactivates the existing structure, while using a small portion of the site and giving the rest to the surrounding community.

Project Length = 10 Weeks

Year Five _ Six person team project

Through modern ballet as a young girl, guitar and violin as a teenager and through vocal music and architecture as a woman; just as I have expressed myself through music, I communicate through my work as an aspiring designer.
