With a focus on Swiss architect Le Corbusier, one of the pioneers of the modern movement, this exhibition examines how certain elements of land and context are re�ected in his project for the city of Chandigarh in India. The E.G. Bührle Collection in Zurich is one of the world's most highly regarded private art collection. After an absence of 27 years in Japan, this exhibition returns with 64 masterpieces including the «Portrait of Irène Cahen d'Anvers (Little Irene)» by Pierre-Auguste Renoir, «The Boy in the Red Waistcoat» by Paul Cezanne and «Waterlilies Pond, Green Re�ection» by Claude Monet. Swiss drummer Nicolas Field (1975–) has been collaborating with Japanese musicians since his �rst visits in Japan in 2006. On the occasion of the release of «FIRST THIRST», the �rst duet record with well-known Japanese saxophone player Akira Sakata, the two of them go on tour through Japan, followed by a European tour in December 2018.www.nicolasfield.com
Draussenwelten, an initiative of the Goethe-Institut Tokyo, invites Japanese directors and actors to perform readings of recent plays which re�ect the state and context of contemporary German-speaking culture. Switzerland-based singer Lauren Newton works at the intersection of contem- porary classical music, avant-garde jazz and performance, using her voice, body and presence as instruments for artistic exploration. Five Pound Pocket Universe (5PPU) is a Jazzcore project founded in 2016 by Swiss musicians Michel Barengo (composition, drums), Andi Bissig (tenor sax, samples, e�ects) and Valentin Baumgartner (guitar, prepared guitar, e�ects). 5PPU's music oscillates between rapidly changing moods of pre- arranged sequences and improvised sections building up to towering walls of sound.
