We were asked to design a library complex to house both a childrens collection as well as an adult collection in greenpoint, Brooklyn. The concept behind the design was a floating box within an inclosed piazza. The box would represent hierarchy, which in this case would be the incosure system for the bookstacks. The library is also seperated into two different forms, the childrens library and the main library. The reasoning for the seperpa-tion is to allow privacy to both groups. This seperation allows for a very large community space within the middle, which allows for a very large outdoor cinema which spectators can view from the ampitheater as well as the park across the streetcan view from the ampitheater as well as the park across the street.

For this project we were asked to design a three apartment complex in Long Beach in only a week. Due to the damage done by the storm Sandy, much of Longbeach has been destroyed do to water damaged. The apartment complex must be five feet above grade to protect from future flooding and must follow all FEMA Codes. Due to the lack of time, the apartments were designed using a basic folded plane allowing natural views to the waterfront. Instead of creating a parking garage under the structure, I created a reflection garden that runs throughout the whole base of the building, creating a green outdoor space for the residence of the apartments.
