Match on Action

Match on action is a camera technique where 2 shots from different angles are cut together into a sequence to create the image of movement and allows the scene to flow easily

Shot Reverse Shot

A camera technique used in conversation shots for example, where the camera shows one character and then the other character over the previous’s shoulder and then reversed again. it is a good way to show reaction shots and to keep track of who is speaking in a conversation.

180 Degree Rule

This is the basic guideline regarding the on-screen position of characters. An imaginary line called the axis connects the characters and by keeping the camera on one side of this axis for every shot in the scene, the first character will always be frame right of the second character, who is then always frame left of the first. If this axis is crossed, the characters switch sides in front of the audience
