� Prince Edward Island, Canada was named for Victoria’s father; Prince Edward – son of George III and brother of George IV and William IV
• Prince Edward, the Duke of Kent and Strathearn (2 November 1767 – 23 January 1820)
• Edward was stationed in Quebec & Nova Scotia from 1791 to 1799
• The legislature of St. John’s Island voted to change its name to Prince Edward Island in honour of Prince Edward on November 29, 1798.
• He died of pneumonia 6 days before his father, George III
