Derby’s Best Mustang Night at the Races was a true success and a wonderful night was had by all. The food, drinks and conversations were flowing all night long. The raffle baskets were absolutely incredible. Thank you to all the parents who generously made donations to create the spectacular baskets. Thank you to all who volunteered, and to everyone who came out to support our school. The success of this fundraiser goes towards providing funds for our children’s education, so we are truly blessed! Scholastic PTO Book Fair Start your Christmas shopping at the Scholastic Book Fair at our school the week after Thanksgiving. The Fair will be held in the school library Monday, November 27th to Saturday, December 2nd from 9:00 am - 3:30 pm. Parents are welcome to shop during those times, and children will be shopping on their regular library day. The book fair will also be open during the craft fair for anyone else who would like to shop. Students may preview books for sale and create and print a wish list to bring with them when they shop at http://www.scholastic.com/bf/ stalbertgreatschool5 . Also, we are looking for volunteers to help with the Book Fair. The signup genius can be found at the PTO section of the school’s website. Box Top Update We sent out 16,300 box Tops one Wednesday in October. All those Box Tops earned the school $1,630. We will continue collecting box tops throughout the year by sending home collection sheets each month to help keep them organized and also to track them for when we have another pop up Box Top Competition. Breakfast with Santa Santa will be stopping at St. Albert the Great again this year on Saturday, December 9th from 8:30am-11:00am to have breakfast with all the good little girls and boys. Along with Santa, this year we will welcome back Magician Rick Smith Jr. too. Santa and his elf will be there at 9 for photos and the photos will be printed onsite. In between breakfast, photos with Santa, and the magic show, your child can also decorate cookies or participate in the raffle. There will be 15 kid friendly baskets and a gift card tree for mom and dad to try to win. Make sure you register early to guarantee your seat. This year reservations are being taken online under the “Breakfast with Santa” link on the PTO’s Upcoming Event page of the school’s website.
Santa Shop The week of December 11th, your children will have a chance to go shopping for Christmas gifts. They will shop during their class’ regularly scheduled library time. This event requires volunteers to help the children shop and wrap their gifts, so look for the sign up genius in the coming weeks to help out. It is truly a joy to watch the children light up when they have found the “perfect gift” for someone they love!

MANNA Christmas will be here is less than 2 months. Time to get shopping and make sure you buy your manna before you shop! Or, make Christmas giving easy on yourself and just give manna gift cards.
