PRESIDENTS MESSAGE
Dear Members,
The last six weeks have been the most frustrat-
ing in over half a century of our club’s existence.
However, we are hopeful our diligence has paid off by protecting
each other to the best of our ability. Please continue to check in
with one another and update our Sunshine chairperson on the
conditions of all members fighting any illness as well as those
recovering from same.
The board has been conducting business on a weekly basis via
e-mail correspondence based on majority decisions. The most
commonly asked question these days is when we will decide to
reopen. It should be understood that such action will only be ini-
tiated by lifting of restrictions by the governor of our state fol-
lowed by our local county and city officials. We will focus not just
on bar and restaurant instructions but fraternal organizations as
well. Be advised new safety protocols could be required of us in
the future likely changing the way we do things for the better.

Liebe Mitglieder,

The next Kulturgesellschaft will focus on modern-day Berlin.
We will be presenting a film about today’s Berlin Kreuzberg. Kulturgesellschaft invites all members to take part – the movie is in German, put perhaps you want to brush up on your language skills – or just watch the movie and try to fol-low along. In any event, we enjoy a nice evening with great people. See you there! Susie Zimmer

Greetings Fan Club Members: I trust this contact finds you all safe at home as we wait out this unfortunate situation. The most recent forecast from the Bun-desliga is that (ghost) games could resume by mid-May. This means that matches would be played in empty stadiums with only enough technical support to enable televised coverage. While this represents a loss to the ticket holders that attend the ven-ues live in person it can provide morale boost to millions of fans worldwide that need something to cheer for as the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few. I want to encourage you all to watch as many games as possible from home as this maintains social dis-tancing practices. Most matches are aired on Fox Sports 1 & 2 via cable or satellite dish subscription. However, some games of high importance find their way to the Fox regular network channel. As league leaders “Die Roten” a.k.a. “The Reds” due to the primary color of their crest and home jer-sey are likely to feature in many of these. I will update you all on the revised schedule as soon as it is released. During the first match let us try to get a mass text group together where we can share our reactions to outstanding plays in real time and celebrate goals by toasting a beer. I look forward to the day we can assemble again at the GASC but urge your patience until that is possible. Mia San Mia Stephen Bauer Fan Club Chairperson
There is not too much to report this month. The beautification is still not working and I don’t know yet when we start working again. Before the gen-eral stop work order came a few of us were at the club every day to do what best could be done when nobody else was there. Bobby Lewis installed a new water connection to the machine shop and Doug Witt and Steve Attridge did some electrical work. Jeff Fincel and I were everyday in the kitchen, painting and taking out part of the old ceiling. But now we are waiting to continue to work and finish what we start-ed. But until then, keep social distance and stay safe. Wolf Ruediger Pech Chairperson
