Santa Cruz and classical guitar at the Royal Conservato- ry of Music in Seville, Spain. He has been an instructor for Napa Valley College’s Viculture and Enology de- partment for the past twenty-two years. In addion he teaches at the Culinary Instute of America at Grey- stone, is a guest lecturer at many universies and has spoken at more than eighty conferences throughout the world on wine, wine educaon, wine tourism, public affairs, and wine markeng. With Liz Thach and Janeen Olsen, he authored a book: Wine Markeng & Sales, Strategies for a Saturated Market by the Wine Appreciaon Guild, which won the Gourmand Internaonal award in 2008 as the best wine book of the year for professionals. A second edion of that work was published in 2011, and a third edion will appear this year. His second book: Arsan Public Relaons, is due to be published in 2017, and a third book, Wine Sales and Distribuon, with John Cros and Byron Marlowe, is nearly completed as well. He was a columnist for Vineyard & Winery Management Magazine for ten years, and served on the board of directors of the Society of Wine Educators for many years. Paul has judged more than 100 internaonal wine compeons, is a founding member of the Academy of Wine Communicaons, a consultant for the Internaonal Wine and Food Society in London, a member of the nominaons commiee of the Culinary Instute of America’s Vintner’s Hall of Fame, and inducted into the Spardarini della Castellania di Soave in 2005. In 2009 he was honored with a “Life Dedicated to Wine” award at the Feria Nacional del Vino (FENAVIN) in Spain. Mr. Wagner founded Balzac Communicaons & Markeng on April 1, 1991. He has conceived and managed public relaons programs for some of the most crical audiences in the world. He is now rered from acve duty at the agency, and enjoys the tle of President Emeritus there.
