The CTS UNODC survey is been adapted to the region’s needs, with the participation of the OAS GS.

The OIS/DSP will be the focal point for promoting the use of the surveys in the Americas, encouraging their completion, and then analyzing the results.

Strengthening regional indicators

• IDB - CISALVA have developed a set of standard standardized citizen security and violence prevention indicators.

• Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Honduras, Peru, Paraguay and Uruguay recently finished a first round of indicators definition, which are being field tested.

• Several other countries of the Western Hemisphere have shown interest in participating in this initiative.
