Programs Nuclear Engineering Minor in BSc Engineering Programs The Minor in Nuclear Engineering is designed to provide undergraduate students from other appropriate engineering programs (mechanical, electrical, chemical etc.) with the fundamentals of nuclear physics and engineering theory and practice, necessary to equip them with a sound understanding of the nuclear engineering that underpins a nuclear energy program. MSc in Nuclear Engineering The M.Sc. in Nuclear Engineering program was established to support the UAE’s peaceful nuclear energy program. Education in Nuclear Engineering is of paramount importance for the safe construction, operation, maintenance and eventual decommissioning of nuclear reactors. PhD in Engineering (Nuclear Concentration) The PhD in Engineering is designed to provide students with advanced research level capability and interdisciplinary skills. It has a common format across the main engineering specializations within the university while allowing the students to focus on their chosen concentration. Areas of nuclear specialization are as stated for the MSc. Recent Student Projects Majed Al Shehhi - Numerical Assessment of Long-Term Coolability with Core Blockage via OECD-ATLAS, Fall, 2018. Waleed Alnaqbi - Thermal-Hydraulic Study on Passive Core Makeup system via OECD-ATLAS project, Fall, 2018. Sultan Al Dhaheri - A study of the Kinetics of Leaching of Long-lived Radionuclides and Heavy Metals, from UAE Urban Soil Samples using Radio-Analytical Techniques and Plasma Mass Spectrometry, Fall, 2018.
