Department of Costume Design and Fashion Department Activities Report – academic year 2018-2019 (odd semester) “Cosflex” Association Inauguration: The department association ‘Cosflex’ was inaugurated by our Director, and the Chief Guest Mr.A.K.B.Nawas Babu, Mangaing Director, S.A.Knit Wears, Madurai on 02/08/2018 by lighting Kuthuvilakku. In this programme our honourable Director G.Venkatasalapathy delivered presidential address and Head of the department Mrs.V.Santhanalakshmi delivered felicitation address. The programme started with the prayer song by P.Priyadharshini of II year and V.Manjula of III year. S.Gopika of III year delivered the welcome address. Our head of the department Mrs.V.Santhanalakshmi presented memento to our chief guest. Mr.A.K.B.Nawas Babu, Mangaing Director, S.A.Knit Wears, Madurai, chief guest of the function presented seminar on “Digital Marketing in Fashion and Apparel industry”. In this seminar, he explained about the application of digital marketing methodology in the Fashion and Apparel industries. In that seminar students actively interacted with the chief guest and clear their doubts in the application area of digital marketing in fashion and apparel industries. Then the student members of the association of the year 2018-2019 were introduced by Mr.K.Sivasankaran Assistant Professor of the department. M.Siva of III year presented annual report of the year 2017-2018 and also he listed the proposed activities of the year 2018-2019. Ms.V.Ida Ebeneser of III year delivered vote of thanks for the occasion. In the afternoon session, Paper presentation competition conducted for our students to improve their presentation skills. In that competition, II and III year students actively participated and presented papers in key areas of textile and fashion. Best performed students were identified and appreciated by head of the department.
