Other Research Equipment

Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy is an analytical technique that measures the concentrations of elements. It makes use of the absorption of light by these elements in order to measure their concentration. Atomic absorption is a very common technique for detecting metals and metalloids in environmental samples.

Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer

Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) Surface Area Analyzer BET Surface Area & Pore Volume Analyzer is an instrument to determine the specific surface area of powders, solids and granules. The values are expressed in meter square per gram. Used to determine pore size analysis, micropore analysis, pore size distribution by pore diameter, pore volume and pore surface area.

Page 11: Department of Chemical Engineering Since 1989

BET Surface Area Analyzer

Rheometer

To measure the way in which a liquid, suspension or slurry flows in response to applied forces.

Rheometer LovibondOxiDirect

LovibondOxiDirectLovibondOxiDirect is usedfor determination of the BOD (Biochemical Oxygen Demand) by measuring the pressure difference within a closed system (respirometric BOD).

Bioreactor Pilot Plant Bubble Column Reactor

BioreactorBioreactor is used to carry out chemical processes involving organisms or biochemically active substances derived from such organisms. The biodegradability of the organic compounds by aerobic microorganisms is determined using a static aqueous test system.

Pilot Plant Bubble Column Reactor with Ozone GeneratorThis apparatus is used to generate and control gas-liquid chemical reactions. The bubble column is particularly useful in reactions where the gas-liquid reaction is slow in relation to the absorption rate.

Tubular Furnace This electric heating device is used to conduct syntheses and purifications of inorganic compounds and occasionally in organic synthesis.
