    FIND MY MATCH

    VALENTINE ACTIVITY

  • In this ac*vity, students prac*ce factoring trinomials and using FOIL to mul*ply two binomials together. Trinomials in this ac*vity have coecients of one and coecients other than one. The ac*vity begins with all students being given a heart. The odd numbered hearts will have a trinomial to be factored, and the even numbered hearts will have two binomials to be mul*plied together. The teacher may wish to run o the hearts on colored paper. I have also found Fun Foam hearts at the dollar spot in major retailers that could be used for this ac*vity. Students take a moment to either factor or use FOIL. Then they must search the room for their match. It may be nice for the teacher to provide a valen*ne treat for the groups that match correctly : ) There are enough hearts for 30 students to par*cipate in this ac*vity at a *me. The teacher can add or subtract hearts as necessary for the number of students. A blank heart template is provided.
