In this graph, we compare the consumer GeForce GTX 480 to a wide range of professional Quadro graphics only available on Dell Precision workstations. The GTX 480 is currently the highest performing single GPU GeForce available on Dell XPS and Alienware desktop systems.


Driver optimizations and stability

• Professional graphics cards have drivers that are tested and tuned for professional graphics applications to deliver optimum results, and driver release cycles that are optimized for stability.

• In addition, drivers in professional cards often enable performance enhancements for certain applications that are not available using consumer cards.


Lifecycle management

• Lifecycle management - a commitment that the hardware will be available and serviced for a given amount of time – is a key component to professional graphics and allows you to standardize on hardware configurations for providing stability and easier manageability.
