The Dell PowerEdge 350 is a rack-dense server aggressively priced to meet the cost and space demands of Internet
and Application Service Providers (ISPs/ASPs), dot-com companies and data centers. With its small size and
competitive cost, the PowerEdge 350 server is designed to help you reduce system costs and optimize the use of
physical space.
This general purpose server is well-suited for many applications such as domain controllers (PDC/BDC gateway
for wireless networks), directory services and domain name service (DNS) servers, low-end Web servers, and a host
of other custom Internet applications. Allowing up to 1GB of 100MHz ECC SDRAM, the PowerEdge 350 server does
not compromise performance for the price. Further, by only requiring 125 watt power supply for system operation, the
PowerEdge 350 offers low power consumption.
Flexibility
The PowerEdge 350 offers you the flexibility to configure a system that can meet your specific needs. It supports
a single Intel® Pentium® III or Celeron™ processor providing you with a reasonably priced choice in speed and

This general purpose server alsosupports up to two Intel® Pentium® III processors with a 133MHz front side bus and includes seven I/O slots toprovide room for additional functionality and future expansion.
One of the key features of the PowerEdge 2500 is the ServerWorks® High-End SuperLite (HE-SL) chipset thatsupports tri-peer PCI architecture. This enables the server to support three separate bus segments, giving you theflexibility to segment your high performance PCI cards on two high-speed 64-bit/66MHz busses and lowerperformance PCI cards on slower busses for enhanced performance. This architecture also reduces the risk forsystem latency associated with bus saturation.

The spare memory bank is an optionalfeature that allows customers to designate one memory bank, or four DIMMs, as a spare and the remaining twobanks, or eight DIMMs, as actual system memory. When a pre-defined ECC error threshold is reached, the sparememory bank copies the data from the faulty bank while the system is running. This maintains server availabilityand memory reliability without service intervention.
