FEW PARENTAL TIPS -
Good Habits
Good Habits and Good Manners are lifelong assets and manners must be practiced until they become a
habit.
Four magic words that are basics of good manners are – Please, Thank you, Excuse me and Sorry.
Make these four words a habit and see the difference.
Manners
1. At home: Help to keep the house clean especially the areas you use. Clear the toys, books or
crafts that remain after you have finished. Honesty is the best policy. Tell the truth at all
times. Be polite. Share the T.V time. Do not sit too close while watching T.V. Be fair with your
friends, brothers and sisters. Be responsible.
2. At the dining table: Take small helpings and refill, clean your plate. Take small bites, eat
properly, slowly with your mouth closed. Help to clear and clean up the table.
3. In the Park: Littering makes the park untidy. Destroying the plants or plucking the flowers will
spoil the beauty. Wait for your turn on swing and slides.
4. At a party: Wish the host. Don’t mess up somebody’s house. While shopping: Softly ask your
parents for what you want. If refused, don’t throw a tantrum. Be careful, don’t touch any
breakable item.
5. On the telephone: If there are no elders around, don’t let the phone ring long, answer it. Talk
softly when someone is speaking on the phone and don’t interrupt.
6. Receiving guests:- When someone came to visit your family, greet them nicely.
Hygiene
Brush your teeth twice a day. Do trim your nails often. Do not waste water and electricity. Keep your
surroundings and environment clean. It is bad habit to throw things out of the window, car or a balcony.
Make friends having good habits that respect their elders and use good language

Story- Pinocchio the wooden toy
Once there was a toymaker, he made a puppet out of wood.
It looked like a real boy. He named the puppet Pinnocchio.
Toymaker even sent him to school. While going to school,
Pinocchio stood at a puppet show. To get entry, he sold his book.
He used the money to buy a ticket. The puppet master took pity
on him and gave some gold coins as he sang and danced in puppet
show.
Page 18
On his way he met a cat and a fox. They made him believe that
to increase it, he should bury his coins. He took a nap to rest.
But when Pinocchio woke up all his coins were gone. He cried for
help. A fairy came to help him. He simply said that he had lost
his way.
Pinocchio felt that his nose was suddenly growing. “This is
because lied,” said the fairy. This made him cry. The fairy
called a bird. It pecked the nose to its normal size.
MORAL- We should not tell a lie

I HAD A LITTLE BALLOON
I had a little balloon
That I hugged tight to me
There was a great big BANG!
No more balloon for me!
But if I had this many more
I wouldn't hold them tight
I'd just hold the strings
and fly them like a kite.
