The Ohio Turnpike (I-80/I-90) spans the state from east to west and is less than twenty miles from Defiance County. The Maumee and Western Railroad and CSX Railroad serve Defiance County's rail needs. New U.S. 24: shovel ready for progress
is uniquely positioned to capitalize on the business opportunities created by the new U.S. Route 24 improvement project. The four-lane highway connects Defiance with markets from Toledo, Ohio, to Fort Wayne, Indiana, and beyond. Defiance has buildings and sites available for development along each of four new interchanges with the highway. U.S. Route 24 places Defiance in the midst of the Midwest’s great cities.

Defiance County Economic Development has launched a new site database known as FastGIS. Associated with Area Development magazine, the database is available at www.defecon.com.
FastGIS allows individuals to create custom demographic reports about specific sites in Defiance County. The system also allows site consultants and business leaders to obtain street level views of local highways, buildings and industrial sites.
