Re: Parent v State; Docket No. 11-2474
Dear Ms. Wolfe:
This letter is in response to one dated September 19,2011 by ASG Laura Etlinger representingvarious state respondents in the above matter. In it, counsel proposes December 14,2011 as adeadline for filing respondent briefs. I respectfully oppose such a protracted period given thecompelling circumstances of this appeal. I respectfully urge a date within 30 days.
This is a case involving daily deprivations of parent-child contact and livelihood. It has beenstyled as a test case on behalf of similarly aggrieved parents based on widespread violations ofhuman rights. In the lower court, the lead case was pending for more than two years until a rulingwas made on the pleadings. At this rate the issues will be rendered moot by the passage of time.
Beyond that, I am a pro se party who was derived of law and driving licenses due to eventsdescribed in the same pleadings. Yet without a law office and resources, I was able to perfect thisappeal, file motions for exigent and procedural relief, process the requisite record, joint appendixand rule submissions, all within a time frame which is exceeded by counsel's current requestlimited only to a response brief. The date is not sought in good faith but selected simply as thelatest permissible deadline under the rules to delay or deny timely justice.
