Laura passed Saturday, December 1, 2012 athome with her family at her side. Laura “Sis” wasborn September 27, 1940 in Plainwell to Cliftonand Laura (Root) Holmes and had been a lifelongresident of the area. She had been employed atthe Otsego Theatre, the Otsego Inn, Metron ofAllegan and for 20 years she was employed withthe Kalamazoo State Hospital. Sis enjoyed golf,gardening, bowling, pool, going to casinos, roadtrips to Sault Ste. Marie, Torch Lake and LasVegas. She especially enjoyed time with herfamily and grandchildren; reading, spending timeon the lake and fishing. On December 31, 1960 inOtsego she married Ronald Lewis, who precededher in 2004. Surviving are two sons and adaughter, Ronald Wayne (Deborah Werner)Lewis of Otsego, Betsy Lewis of Otsego andKenny Lewis of Kalamazoo; five grandchildren,Terri Ann (Jason Sinkler) Lewis, Lindsey (Tyler)Budge, Lauran (James) Brazier, Steevi Etherton,James Werner and Brittany Simkins; a greatgrandson, Jason Samuel Sinkler; a sister, RuthHolmes of Grand Junction; two brothers, TomHolmes of Texas and Jack (Linda) Holmes ofOtsego; several nieces and nephews. She waspreceded in death by her parents and a brotherand sister-in-law, William (Betty) Holmes. Funeralservices were held Thursday at the

Dean E. DAILEYAGE 63 - COOPER TOWNSHIP

Dean passedaway at homeearly Mondaym o r n i n g ,November 26th,2012. He wasborn January 4,1949 in Allegan,MI to Robert andLois (Duncan)Dailey. He is sur-vived by his wife,

Gracie Dailey, his brother Jack (Stella) Dailey,daughter Amy and son Joshua Dailey. Deanwas a talented steel guitar player and was amember of several area bands over the years.He will be best remembered as a member ofthe Twang Brothers and Four Wheel Drivebands. Dean was a masterful CADD operator.He was employed with EnvironmentalTechnologies for 25+ years at the time ofdeath. His drawings went beyond the require-ments of the job and were often referred to asworks of art. Dean loved to garden and foundgreat satisfaction in designing and buildingthe gardens and grounds around his home.One of his special projects was just complet-ed last summer, a dry set field stone walledgarden. It is here that his ashes will be buriedearly next summer when his garden is inbloom. Cremation has taken place. A memo-rial will be held January 6th at 2 p.m. at theOld Dog Tavern in Kalamazoo. Contributionscan be made in Dean’s memory to WMUK-Grass Roots or WGVU TV.
