Hopefully you all had a nice Thanksgiving Holiday with your families. Hard to believe that the season is a month and a half in and we've already had some "winter" temperatures at the rink. Don't worry though, the 40-50 degree weather won't last and you will need to break out your cold gear shortly. For this newsleDer - a couple of things that we want to highlight as well as some quick thoughts from the coaches on how their teams are doing at this part of the season. Read and enjoy. Toughness in Hockey, in the classroom and in Life . This weekend, our Squirt A team played West Point at the academy. We won 6-2, so a nice win but got to spend an hour with the Army Lacrosse Coach touring their facility. He spoke about "toughness" which he explained means giving 100% effort, 100% of the Tme. Not just for scrimmages or during games, but during the drills that you don't like or when the coach is on the other end ice. He also broadened this out to the classroom and academics, as well as in life. We have a video of the talk thanks to some quick thinking parents and the link is available on our Facebook page. Well worth watching and sharing with your kids. March Meltdown - We are in the process of planning our March Meltdown tournament. As a heads up, here is the schedule.
