SIMON NEWSLETTER December 2015 Virtue of the Month: Charity In the season of Advent, as we prepare for the birth of Jesus, it is important to keep in mind those that are less fortunate than us. This in- cludes the poor in spirit and the poor in wealth, those that are ill and the lonely. What we give can be different for each of us. We can give prayers, our time or even a smile. During this season of hope and waiting, we are called to give of ourselves to those in need. This helps us grow in our faith. Amen

Volleyball
On Monday, November 9, the intermediate boys volleyball team participated in their tournament. The event took place at St. Andre Catholic School. The boys played with great skill, determination and enthusiasm. Their hard work and commitment during practices paid off! They all improved their game, leadership abilities and their team work. They stuck together, encouraged each other and helped each other out. Their coaches: Mrs. Arruda and Mrs. Bucci, were very pleased with their overall third place finish. The boys never gave up! They worked hard and represented our school well! The following team members are: 1. Luca Petitti 2. Henry Olabode

The initiative blends the Year of the Family with our ongoing focus on living our Catho-lic values by putting faith into action.
On December 7th, St. Sebastian, Fr. Serra and St. Anselm will engage in their first online chat discussing what they have done, and will be doing for the Year of the Family.
Archdiocese of Toronto’s Project Hope A reminder to all that the Archdiocese of Toronto has passed the midway point of its 100-day “Project Hope” $3 Million Emergen-cy Refugee Resettlement Campaign. The goal is supporting the settlement of 100 refugee families within the Greater Toronto Area as soon as possible. Schools are encouraged to partner with their local parish to raise funds for this worthwhile effort. Get more information online: https://www.tcdsb.org/pages/project-hope.aspx
