We are very excited to inform you about our countryside mission. It is not only exciting, but has proven to be a great example of how faithful God is and continues to be. The deaf are com- municating in true sign language (not home signs) and it is fun to learn about them as they learn about us. Last Friday the deaf were being taught to write the Fidel (their alphabet) and some were upset and voiced they wanted to be learning bible stories! Wow, how exciting is that.! We also had four deaf come to Mekele. These deaf have attended a seminary univer- sity in Kenya and have completed the work. They preached the word of God throughout the city of Mekele and shared with many Orthodox deaf here on the compound differences in belief through the bible. They visited the vil- lage and encouraged and taught the deaf there also. What a blessing! They have asked for prayer from America that they have many opportunities to share Christ with their people all over Africa. So please pray for these four young men as they serve our Lord. Pray for others to come and please pray for more workers for the harvest.. I am in earnest prayer at this time to open a small training center in order to teach a work skill to Inner City deaf. I believe this will bring some of the Ortho- dox deaf to the center for a skill, wherefore, each morn- ing there will be a prayer and short bible story before we begin. It will be a way to expose them to the word if they truly want a skill. Pray for Jonathan as he focuses his attention in the city. The Lord is calling him to work with the deaf enrolled in the deaf school. We will be di- vided as our work is heading us in different directions but, Praise the Lord more ground can be covered. He will be sending an update soon about his ministry. Hands ThatHear

Ethiopia has a large deaf population that have very little contact with the world around them. There are a small but growing number of resources that provide an education or a language to the thousands of deaf individuals. Hands That Hear is a ministry to teach sign language through the use of bible stories, provide an education, and to provide witness of the awesome power of Jesus Christ.

We are very excited to inform you

about our countryside mission. It is not

only exciting, but has proven to be a

great example of how faithful God is

and continues to be. The deaf are com-

municating in true sign language (not

home signs) and it is fun to learn about

them as they learn about us.

Last Friday the deaf were being taught

to write the Fidel (their alphabet) and

some were upset and voiced they

wanted to be learning bible stories!

Wow, how exciting is that.! We also

had four deaf come to Mekele. These

deaf have attended a seminary univer-

sity in Kenya and have completed the

work. They preached the word of God

throughout the city of Mekele and

shared with many Orthodox deaf here

on the compound differences in belief

through the bible. They visited the vil-

lage and encouraged and taught the

deaf there also. What a blessing! They

have asked for prayer from America that they

have many opportunities to share Christ with

their people all over Africa. So please pray for

these four young men as they serve our Lord.

Pray for others to come and please pray for more

workers for the harvest..

I am in earnest prayer at

this time to open a small

training center in order to

teach a work skill to Inner

City deaf. I believe this will

bring some of the Ortho-

dox deaf to the center for a

skill, wherefore, each morn-

ing there will be a prayer

and short bible story before

we begin. It will be a way to

expose them to the word if

they truly want a skill.

Pray for Jonathan as he focuses

his attention in the city. The

Lord is calling him to work

with the deaf enrolled in the

deaf school. We will be di-

vided as our work is heading

us in different directions but,

Praise the Lord more ground

can be covered. He will be

sending an update soon about

his ministry.

I was very excited to have Fasil Kidan, Mohammed Bedewi, Wondwosen

Abera

and Tesfaye Moges come to our compound in Mekele. Much was accom-

plished in sharing God’s word and showing the Orthodox deaf truth in the

bible. Pray for us as we are preparing drama ,fun games and a time to fellow-

ship for Christmas. We want to bring the deaf from the village to meet the Or-

thodox deaf of Mekele. Pray God will touch lives.

Mussie

I enjoy teaching. I enjoy seeing the deaf become closer to God how-

ever, my heart grieves for those who choose to turn away. We have

completed a CD of stories from the bible from Geneses the creation to

the resurrection in Tigrinya sign Language. I am praying the deaf will

watch and God will speak to their heart. Please pray for me as I am

wanting to attend school in Uganda to have a deeper understanding of

God’s word and then return to the work to be done among the deaf.

Leitie

We are teaching about God in the village to the deaf. We are

teaching them the Christian way. We are teaching them signs,

numbers and writing. The deaf are improving much. The deaf

want to learn the bible. I am happy to be a part of Hands That

Hear Ministry. Thank You.. Mustafa

As of now, the team is very excited to be working on a Christmas drama of

the birth of Christ. They are praying earnestly that God will bless their ef-

forts to bring all the deaf together for fellowship. We believe the deaf in the

village will be encouraged by this. The team has asked for special prayer

from you, that God will bring more evangelist to Mekele and that many more

villages open up for us. May God bless! May your Christmas holidays be a

joyous one. Galatians 6:9 Let us not grow weary in doing good, for at

the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

God Bless!

Update soon as Jonathan

starts his ministry..
