WRSD. CA/PIONEER Renaissance News The Pioneer School Academy Awards was a huge success with our honoured guest Mr. Brian Celli. We recognized over 220 of our students for their academic achievement. Students were treated to a touch of Hollywood’s glitz and glamour with a classy red carpet walk and a program set to enter- tain. Our Grade 8 Leadership Team kept the program moving with entertaining interviews and trivia competitions. Student talent was also showcased during an amazing performance by Miss McPhedrans’s Grade 8 Dance Troup! I’d like to thank all of the parents and community members that came out to support their children as well as our Renaissance program. Our program would not be possible without the continued support from parents and community members and I look forward to continuing our partnership to make Pioneer School a great place to be! Please note that we have cancelled our Christ- mas Pep Rally on December 23. Sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause. If you have any questions or concerns, please email Leanne Chatwood at [email protected]. As Christmas fast approaches, we take this time to reflect upon the many blessings we've experienced over the course of the year. One of the foremost in my mind is the incredible support we receive from our parents and community members. You help us with our Renaissance and Breakfast programs, support our staff by volunteering to work in the school - whether it is supervising students or photocopying and attend the various co-curricular and extra- curricular activities lead by Pioneer's staff. These things - among all the others - help to build a strong school community in which our students can thrive. Thank you! I am also thankful for a dedicated staff who do their utmost to support our students through a variety of activities - both in and outside of the classroom. Maintaining co- and extra-curricular activities like Renaissance, various band and athletic groups, yearbook, etc. takes hours of extra work and can only be accomplished through the efforts of an incredible staff. As I end this note, I would like to wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. See you in 2012. Bobbie-Jo Douglas Principal

We are expecting excellent participation
in the festival again this year. Students
have been signing up in class for solos and

back by the end of December but they
will also be accepted the first week back
in January.
London Band

next week. Rehearsals will
be on Wednesdays as was
stated in the spring. Rehearsals will run
from 3:45—5:15 p.m.. In January we will
rehearse January 18th and January 25th.
Attendance is expected at all rehearsals.
Cold Weather Reminder
During inclement weather, please remind students to dress appropriately for weath-er conditions. Classes are often outside for various rea-
sons, as well as bus students need to be prepared in the event that busses may be running late or break downs.
Candy-Grams Candy-grams are on sale
from December 13th to
the 22th. They will be de-
livered the morning of December
23rd. They cost just 25 cents,
and will be sold at noon in the
student gathering area. All pro-
ceeds are going to Victim Ser-
vices. Send all your friends a
Christmas greeting!
Pioneer Classes have
challenged each other
to help those in need
at this time of year
by collecting Christmas Gifts and

junction with Santas Anonymous. The
