Ardrossan Academy Contingency Plan Dear Parent/Carer, As you are no doubt aware, the situation regarding COVID-19 is a rapidly changing one. Whilst there has been no confirmation yet that schools are going to close we need to prepare for this eventuality. This resource will also support those who are in self-isolation at present. In the following booklet you will find details of how each department has prepared for a school closure, with a mixture of online and paper resources being available. Pupils have been provided with glow log-ins, shown how to access on line resources in class and given books and resources already. There is information towards the end of this booklet that will support your child in logging into various online resources should you need it. If pupils are struggling to access GLOW, which is the main conduit to accessing online resources please contact us via email. If pupils cannot get access on line at all please contact us on our email address and we will give alternatives. If you wish to communicate with us during closure please also use our email address which is: [email protected]ayrshire.sch.uk. We will also text and tweet updates as and when it is appropriate to do so. Our school website www.ardrossanacademy.co.uk also has a digital learning page with additional information and links. We realise that many young people will find this time worrying and suggest the following websites/links as a means of online support: Young Scot https://young.scot/campaigns/national/coronavirus There is even a TikTok handwashing tutorial: https://www.tiktok.com/@youngscot/video/6803293207905062150 NHS Scotland has answers to common questions, advice on staying home, and a helpful guide covering the known symptoms of Coronavirus: https://www.nhsinform.scot/illnesses-and-conditions/infections-and-poisoning/coronavirus-covid- 19 If young people are worried or concerned about what they are hearing – they should always talk to a trusted adult about their concerns.
