The Sargodha Medical College is the first ever medical college run by any public sector university in Punjab. It started the MBBS degree program in 2006 after due recognition by Pakistan Medical and Dental Council. The MCPS and FCPS degree programs are also being offered since 2009 in collaboration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan. Similarly, MPhil, MD and MS programs in different disciplines are being offered from 2012 onwards. As per decision of the Government of Punjab, the MBBS program is affiliated with the University of Health Sciences, Lahore. Moreover, short and long term diploma courses are available in the Medical College under the Skilled Manpower Development Program, Government of Punjab.
