0639 aph

Refers to a part of the body, specifically the nose, nostril, face, or countenance (Gen 2.7)

Ex 34.6 longsuffering—arek aph—literally means long of anger, i.e., long before getting angry. The thought is that God takes a long, deep breath as he holds his anger in abeyance.

The main use of aph is to refer to the anger of men and of God. This anger is expressed in the appearance of the nostrils.
