Widowed Persons Outreach
• Started over 20 years ago as a collaboration between Sibley and AARP
• Is separate 501(c)3, though it doesn’t have to be• Only paid staff is Sibley staff (my office)• Provides robust support for spousal bereavement

Village Collaborations
• In 2014, Sibley created a village alliance – Palisades Village and Little Falls Villages– Provide training and outreach– Villages benefit through Sibley Senior Assn

Club Memory
• Fills a significant need in the DC metro community
• A place where people with a disease and their care partners meet to socialize, play games, share resources, and get support
• Funding by private philanthropy and grants; no members pay to attend

In One Month…
• 6-8 Club Memory-sponsored social events • 3 support groups for people with memory loss

Club Memory Expansion
• Club Memory was launched into Ward 8 in
September 2014, in Ward 7 in January 2015
• A federal grant (Alzheimer’s Disease Initiative)
given to only 10 cities in the country.
– Permits Club Memory to launch in all Wards in DC by
September 2015 (Ward 3 launched in 2011 and
includes persons from Ward 2)
