CAUTION
The CCV Heat filter and hose insulation blankets are made of carbon fiber filaments which may cause itch when handled with bare hands or exposed skin. Rubber gloves are recommended before working with insulation blankets to avoid itch and possible allergic reaction.
NOTICE
Before installing the insulation blankets, it may be necessary to remove the two 15mm bolts (Figure 3) connecting the filter to the engine in order to install the blankets. This may be more applicable to the DCA150SSJU4F generator than the DCA70SSJU4i and DCA125SSJU4i generators.
1. Use a 15mm socket wrench tool to remove the two 15mm bolts connecting the CCV Heat filter to the engine if neccessary. See Figure 3.
Figure 3. 15mm Connecting Bolts
2. Wrap the insulation blanket with heating element (P/N EE57853) around the CCV filter (Figure 4). Make sure the insulation blanket covers the CCV filter before securing with the Velcro strips at the front and bottom.
3. Once secured, pull the draw-string tie tight around the clamp bolt at the top of the filter (Figure 5) to provide further insulation blanket support.
