U.S.CenterforWorldMission. Throughreadingsandavarietyofspeakers,

participantslearnaboutGod’sglobalpurpose

throughfourvantagepointsorperspectives:biblical,historical,cultural,andstrategic.

OneofthearticlesthatIreadasapartofthistrainingwaswrittenbyJohnStott.Heexplains

thebiblicalfoundationformissionsbeginning

withthecallofAbrahaminGenesis.Hestates

thatthe“wholeofGod’spurposeisencapsulated”

intheseversesandespeciallyinthephrase,“byyouallthefamiliesoftheearthshallbeblessed”

(Gen.12:3).Stottsaysthisexpression“revealsthe

livingGodoftheBibletobeamissionaryGod....

missioneldofDallasandRockwallcounties.Peoplefrom

allovertheworldhavecometoourcity.Morethaneverbefore,wehavean

opportunitytoreachpeoplefrommanydierent

peoplegroups.

theincredibletimedemandsofministry,theintensityofchurchwork,andadministrativetasks. DBAseekstoprovidetheneededtimeforministerstoexperiencefellowshipandintimacywithGodthroughpastoralretreats.Thisfall,twoseparatebutclosely-

alignedopportunitiesareavailableforpastorsandchurchsta.OnSeptember15,aSabbathexperiencewillbeledbyMilfredMinatrea.Thisisaonedayretreatfrom9a.m.until3p.m.atMt.

Lebanon.Thesabbathemphasizeslearning,debriengandtimewith
