• Railroads stretch out West– Better transport for people/supplies

• Tried to protect African Americans– Civil Rights Bill– 14th Amendment
• Industrial Revolution– Big surge to city
• Trusts rise to power– Corruption also rises
Potential Thesis
• Both the North and the South had positive and negative results following the Civil War, which related to industry, African Americans, and future generations.
