Opening Scene

Lighting:

Front/Rear

Sound:Soft music playing in background with conversation between the parents.

Camera Angle:

Eye-level with a close

up shot of Chihiro.

Chihiro sulks in the back seat of her parents’ car while her family is on its way to a new home in a new town, and Chihiro doesn’t want to move. This opening scene sets the tone for the movie.

Camera Movement:Dolly/Tracking, the camera is moving along side with the car.

THE ESTABLISHING SHOTLighting:

High Key

in.Sound:Music gets louder from previous scene.

This scene show the neighborhood that the characters are leaving. It also is the scene that introduces the title of the film. No chareacters are in this scene.

This is the scene when things took a turn for the worse. Chihiro’s father gets lost while taking a short cut, and loses control of the car as they drive further and further in the forest.

Lighting:Flashes of high key lighting.

Sound:Drastic music begins to play as the characters in this scene begin to scream, also Tree branches are breaking. Camera Movement:

effect.Camera Angle:It is a long shot and close up. The scene is fast moving so the angles are constantly changing.

In this scene the father loses control of the car but he sees a tunnel that he realizes the car will run into so everyone starts to panic and scream.

Lighting:Flashes of high key and low key lighting.Sound:Drastic music gets louder. Car is hitting branches and rocks. Screams get louder.

This scene the characters get out of the car because there is a tunnel. The parents discover that this tunnel is actually an entrance.

lighting.Sound:Music stops and Chihiro is yelling for her parent to come back to the car..

scene. Camera Angle:It is a long shot and close up. It starts as a close up then turns into a long shot.

In this scene the parents find a deserted stall piled with food. They start eating, and soon, they’re both pigging out. Chihiro refuses to eat because she has a bad feeling about it and she wanders away by herself Her parents kept eating the food.

In this scene Chihiro wonders to a bridge, which she doesn’t know is the spirit world. She is fascinated by the building.

the whole

In this scene it shows when the spirit world gets dark. This is another establishing shot. It is showing the whole setting of the spirit world. This is where the majority of the movie will take place.

Camera Movement:This scene is establishing the setting and it is panning back and forth to show the whole spirit world.Camera Angle:

This scene is a long shot. It is also zooming in and out and panning back and forth.

In this scene the boat is approaching land. This will be the first time viewer will see the spirits and how they come to land. This is a very important scene because this is the passage way for spirits.

This scene is a long shot. It is also zooming in and out and panning back and forth.

In this scene Chihiro sees the spirits leave the boat and she begins to panic. This scene also shows one of the spirits she will meet later in the movie that will befriend her and help her get back home and save her parents.

Sound:Drastic music softens. Chihiro starts screaming. Spirits are talking among

themselves. Camera
