Please be mindful of young students as they can be difficult to see and can easily get excited when they see their friends or school playground. We are encouraging all students to walk to school. If you need to drive, we are promoting counter-clockwise driving and drop-off around the school to ease traffic congestion so students do not have to cross the street.
Remember, U-turns are illegal. Also, our parking lot is needed for staff. Please do not enter the staff parking to drop off your children.
The Most Dangerous
Traffic is by the School
Orange Shirt Day is inspired by a residential school survivor who had her family clothing, including an orange shirt, taken away from her when she attended a residential school.
With tragic discoveries at several residential school sites, it is most important that we acknowledge the mistreatment of residential school students.
Please have your child wear orange Wednesday, September 29
to commemorate the residential school experience, to witness and honour the healing journey of the survivors and their families, and to commit to the ongoing process of reconciliation.
Thursday, September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Day—School is closed on this day.
Orange Shirt Day:
Wednesday, September 29 -
Reminder
Students in grade 4 to 7 can join the Cross Country Team.
Our first Cross Country practice will be on Thursday, September 23 on the gravel field.
Students will have meets where they will race against other students from other schools. Meets will be on Tuesday, Oct 5; Thursday, Oct 14; and Mon, Oct 18 at Quilchena Park (W. 33 and Arbutus).
