All, but Mike Beiter, Bruce Mills and Don Neville were present. Keith Miller , homeowner and Claude DuCloux, president of the Master Assoc were also present Security: While this is a master association decision and responsibility, Bruce Mills on the DRNA board also serves on the master board and is working on making Davenport as safe as possible. Security hours have been increased and additional patrol was requested over the July 4th weekend and night for danger from fireworks. Security activity reports have been requested and will be posted on the website when we get them. Please continue to call 911 in emergencies and 311 for non emergencies. This will help the patrol to identify peak times and needs of the neighborhood. Always be a watchful neighbor. Speeding continues to be a safety issue in Davenport. The constables are aware of this issue and will issue tickets ARB – architectural review please contact Carl Gamble at Goodwin Management 502-7517 or [email protected] before embarking on any project. Check out the website for ARB forms and info !! Communication: Newsletter: Meredith Landry([email protected]): newsletter deadline is the 9th of every month. If you have something to submit please email it to me. Several members asked to have the minutes published in the newsletter. After their approval , I will have them posted on the website. Look for the July minutes after the september meeting since we do not meet as a board in August. Email addresses continue to come in which is great. Website: New to website ARB forms, austin energy announcement, useful telephone #’s, meeting notices, newsletter link, property 209 code and fee schedule. Coming soon: test vote for neighborhhood watch in Davenport send us your opinion on whether to proceed with this program in Davenport or not. Send the Board your thoughts, comments by emailing us at admin@ davenportranch.org Finance – Don Neville Social – Michelle Bolke has volunteered to be our social chair!!! Contact her at [email protected] with your ideas or to help with future gatherings in Davenport. Michelle plans on a family event in the fall, with an adult event in the winter with another family event in the spring. Check the announcements on the website for dates. Would you like monthly meet at a restaurant events for anyone who can come? Email Michelle and let her know Landscape: Have you noticed a change! A committee made up of Brad Weatherford and Mike Beiter has formed. They are currently getting bids on improving the landscape in common areas at Canonero and Waymaker, also Bold Ruler and Canonero. FYI: The corner of Carryback and Westlake with the one pitiful crepe myrtle is Master association property. We have requested their attention to this space and were told they are getting bids on it. Questions with the master association affairs contact [email protected]. The landscape committee is reviewing with the property manager responsibilities of DRNA and DRMA ( master) , reviewing CCRs to comply with what is required in the neighborhood. Some new lots share lots on 2 streets so we are addressing with those neighbors what is required by CCRS. Further landscaping, mowing of unimproved lots etc are continuing to be addressed. Owners have been contacted, letters have followed. Anyone interested in serving on a landscape commiittee? Contact Mike Beiter at [email protected] or Brad Weatherford at [email protected] Sidewalks: up Waymaker are still being addressed with parties involved. New business: Austin Energy is relocating some lines at Waymaker and Round Table to allow for the completion of the condominiums in the Davenport Rim. See article later in this newsletter for details. Mike Allen on the DRNA board has been overseeing this project. Neighborhood watch, online voting were briefly discussed.

Recipe of the Month:

Pantry-Shelf Pea Salad ½ c. salad oil ¼ c. tarragon vinegar 2 tsp. salt 2 tsp. sugar ¼ tsp. pepper 2 (1 lb.) cans peas, drained (4 c.) 2 c. diced celery 2 c. diced cucumbers ½ c. minced green onions 1/3 c. chopped pimiento ½ c. grated carrot Salad greens Combine salad oil, vinegar, salt, sugar and pepper in bottom of medium salad bowl. Add remaining ingredients and chill at least 1 hour to blend flavors. Serve on salad greens. Makes 10 servings.

Davenport RanchAustin Energy Construction Project

In an effort to improve the overall reliability and maintainability of its system (and to reposition the wires that are too close to the Davenport Rim condos that are under construction), Austin Energy will be undertaking a construction project along the lower part of Waymaker Drive.

The project is scheduled to begin in late May, 2006 and should be completed by early October, 2006. The project will be carried out in two phases. The first phase will consist of setting a permanent pole at the lower end of Waymaker (near the Riva Ridge intersection) and setting a temporary pole at the corner of the Davenport Rim private drive. The wires running parallel with Waymaker close to the condos will be removed; being replaced by new wires running overhead to the permanent pole, underground from the permanent pole to the temporary pole, and overhead from the temporary pole to one of the existing poles at the lower side of the Davenport Rim private drive. The second phase of the project will involve continuing the underground portion of the installation across the Davenport Rim private drive. This will result in removal of the temporary pole; removal of both of the existing poles on the lower end of the Davenport Rim private drive; and removal of one of the two poles on the upper side of the Davenport Rim private drive.

As part of this project, Austin Energy has agreed to replace the existing Bradford pear trees on the south side of Waymaker (where they will be working) and replacing those trees with Texas live oak trees. In order to ensure landscaping consistency, the Davenport Ranch Master Association will discuss replacing the other Bradford pear trees on the south side of Waymaker with Texas live oak trees at the same time.
