Special Summer 2020 Opportunity for High School Students Are you a high school sophomore or junior who wants to positively impact the world? We encourage you to apply for a special summer session of the Cultivate ACCESS community. Cultivate ACCESS (Agriculture Career Communities to Empower Stu-dents in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)) aims to increase participation of youth in STEM-related agricultural careers through a holistic mentoring and development program. We are currently accepting applications for the 2020 summer session of Cultivate ACCESS starting June 1st and running through August 7th. As a Cultivate ACCESS scholar, you will be mentored by career professionals to help you ex-plore your career interests. You will also connect with college student ambassadors for addi-tional mentoring and to help you prepare for life after high school. As a Cultivate ACCESS scholar, you will gain valuable employability skills including leadership, teamwork and com-munication. 4-H Summer Workshops More information on 4-H Workshops will be coming. A variety of workshops are being planned and hopefully will be available in June, depending on the restrictions due to COVID-19.
Youth Quality Care of Animals deadline, June 15. All youth exhibiting livestock at Butler County Fair and State Fair must complete YQCA training. This includes rabbits and poultry exhibitors. On-line training @ http://yqca.org. Sign in on the 4-H Online side with the same user name
and password used for 4-H enrollment.
June 15th: 4-H Animal ID Deadline– Horses, Beef, Sheep, Goats, Swine, & Rabbits. Butler County Fair-ear tags and paper forms available @ butler.unl.edu. State Fair-DNA envelope-hair sample, ear tags and online ID entry.
Changes to the 2020 4-H Fair Schedule 1. Interview Judging for static exhibits will begin at 8:00 am and end at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, July 15.
(if planning to interview judge for 4-H/FFA, please be at the Event Center by 11:30 AM )
2. Broiler weigh-in is 8 pm, Wednesday, July 15.
3. There will be no check in on Thursday, July 16, for rabbits or poultry, check in is Wednesday evening.
4. The 4-H Poultry Show will begin at 1:30 pm on Thursday, July 16.
5. Release of exhibits and livestock will being at 7 pm on Sunday, July 19.
