Every refrigeration plant, which is designed for a reliable long-term operation, requires a control unit that enables

the communication between the different system parts. It is one of the most important component that guarantees

reliability and the efficient operation of the refrigeration plant.

The GEA Grasso control unit is an electronic monitoring and

control device for reciprocating and screw compressors, packages

and chillers. It provides online information on all relevant

conditions, e.g. pressures, temperatures, hours of operation, % of

capacity, safety control, alarm history file. Automatic start-up,

shut down and capacity control routines are implemented. The

automatic sequence control is an optional feature which enables to

control a maximum of eight compressor packages or chillers.

GEA Grasso GSC TP

The GEA Grasso GSC TP easily satisfi es

the highest requirements of refrigeration

plants and service demands. All screw and

reciprocating compressor packages and

chillers can be controlled and monitored

by the GEA Grasso GSC TP. Predefi ned

package confi guration allows a quick

adaptation to a wide variety of applications.

A user friendly touch screen enables an excel-

lent communication interface providing an

intuitive menu structure. GEA Grasso GSC TP

also supports a wide variety of displayable

languages including Latin, Chinese,

Japanese, and Cyrillic.

Special attention has been directed to a

versatile communication capability. MPI Bus

and Ethernet are included as standard whilst

Profi bus DP, Modbus TCP, Modbus RTU,

Profi NET and EtherNET/IP are optional

features to allow communication with other

controllers on site. Optional components for

internet connectivity enable diagnostic work

and operation monitoring remotely by PC or

laptop. Up to eight packages or chillers can

be controlled by the automatic sequence

system.

The GEA Grasso GSC OP is primarily

intended to control reciprocating packages.

It is a reliable controller for all applications

with basic control requirements. The indi-

cation of important operation parameters

and alarm functions are stored for service

purposes. MPI Bus and Modbus RTU are

included as standard whilst Profi bus DP,

Modbus TCP, Profi NET and EtherNET/IP

are optional features thus allowing commu-

nication with other controllers on site.

The automatic sequence control uses the

integrated MPI Bus system. Modbus RTU

and optionally Profi bus DP are available for

special communication tasks.
