AZCOM AZB SERIES 1U DIGITAL ENODEB BASEBAND UNIT The AZB-NC0M-4304 can support proprietary implementation for private and defense networks including anti-jamming solutions, cell search for surveillance and multi-frequency hopping for robust communications. Module Description PnP for Rapid Deployment CONNECTED WORLD EVERYWHERE Data Sheet T he Azcom AZB-NC0M-4304 Digital eNodeB Baseband Unit (BBU) is a state-of-the-art Baseband Unit Product. Operating on a standard 1U rack mounted chassis or active casing, this product provides a full featured baseband unit that can be deployed with multiple radio-access technologies like LTE Advanced Pro, LTE Advanced, FDD-LTE, TDD-LTE and HSPA+. The AZB-NC0M-4304 Baseband Unit consists of high performance processors (DSP, GPU and FPGA) with multiple data movement interfaces that provide a full featured BBU that supports both centralized and distributed operation. On the access network side, this product can be used to realize LTE/3G eNodeBs, and Network in a box (NIB) type solutions. The product can be used to deploy different access technologies like LTE Advanced Pro, LTE Advanced, FDD LTE, TDD LTE and 3G HSPA+ by means of a simple software upgrade. The AZB-NC0M-4304 contains one of the most advanced and powerful multi-core SoC to run and manage the L1, L2 and L3 stacks. Access technology specific accelerators provide a simple and reliable way to implement the PHY layer. The high performance SoC is well suited to implement advanced LTE features like NB-IoT, eMTC, Carrier Aggregation, higher order MIMO, cross carrier scheduling, co-operative multi point transmission and reception and beamforming. Optimization and acceleration engines are also available on the SoC to optimize the data path, improving overall throughput and capacity of the BBU. The GPU enables implementation of the EPC functions, thus realizing a compact LTE NIB solution. The Azcom AZB solution is a plug-n-play device that allows for easy and efficient operation, administration and maintenance through the SNMP and CLI protocols. The product has a comprehensive suite of Fault, Configuration, Accounting, Performance and Security (FCAPS) functions for system management, network and performance monitoring and management. With less than three- minute boot time before offering services, the product facilitates rapid service availability. Defense, Public Safety & Private Networks The AZB-NC0M-4304 supports all the essential highspeed communication interfaces like GBE and CPRI. Appropriate configurations of these interfaces can enable multiple, flexible deployment configurations. A distributed eNodeB can be realized on the AZB-NC0M-4304 with the BBU communicating with the remote radio head (RRH) using the CPRI protocol over optical fiber. The CPRI protocol on the AZB-NC0M-4304 can support a single or multi-carrier RRH solution. The RRH placement can be close to the BBU (Indoor solution) or far away (Outdoor or remote solution). The AZB- NC0M-4304 supports two SFPs that caters to a simultaneous outdoor and indoor deployment. The AZB-NC0M-4304 has multiple GBE interfaces to support backhauling and BBU pooling. BBU pooling allows flexibility in network planning to dynamically scale the network depending on required capacity and throughput. Redundancy can also be managed by BBU pooling. This enables a Centralized or Cloud- RAN solution. The GBE can also be used as a front-haul to realize different stack split architectures like PHY and MAC split, PDCP and RLC split or a split within the PHY itself. These are variants of the Cloud-RAN solution that can be realized depending on the deployment considerations. Communication Interfaces and Deployment Configurations
