1.2. Tsunami drill After tsunami on 24 December 2004 in Banda
Aceh, tsunami drills have been presented by JICA in Deah Glumpang
approximately up to 4 times and the last time was conducted in
2008. In 2012, government presented disaster management in
collaboration with local NGOs.
1.3. Escape BuildingAfter earthquake on 12 April 2012, most of
villager evacuated themselves by vehicle to the highland, because
the government did not provide information regarding the potential
of tsunami and evacuating places. Only some of them rescued
themselves in the escape building. According to a villager who
rescued his self in the escape building, almost 50 % of Deah
Glumpangs village that dominated by women, elderly and children
evacuated themselves in escape building.
1.4. How did villagers find the food for themselves?While the
Tsunami on 24 December 2004 In Banda Aceh, The Villagers of Deah
Glumpang secured themselves to higher land. Approximately 200
Villagers evacuated themselves in Keutapang. Some of villagers
evacuated at a relative/family house and the rest of them stayed at
a post in the complex of TVRI (Television of Indonesian Republic).
The first week after Tsunami, the villagers received foods from the
local villagers. Furthermore, in the second week a leader of Bank
Aceh (BPD) donated them foods to, the food survived up to several
weeks. One month after tsunami, the villager were difficult to get
the food on the market, because there is no stock of the food,
caused by paralysis of the transportation. Second month after the
tsunami, refugees receive aids from several foreign and domestic
NGOs, governments and companies. They donated the food and
medicine.After earthquake in 2012, the villager had no problems to
find the foods. Because did not occur a great damage at that time.
In addition, a few hours after evacuating they back to their own
home. The same thing also happened in other two villages, namely:
Lambung and Alue Deah Teungoh.

farming4. traditional cake-making5. Dried fish (Ikan kayu/
Keumamah). It will begin this year (2014). Villager has received
support from the government in the form of equipment for fish
processing, but the government does not facilitate the villager
with training.

2.3. Escape BuildingAfter earthquake in 2012, some of villager
evacuated themselves in the escape building in Lambung village. But
most of them who have vehicle rescued themselves to the high land.

2.4. How did villagers find the food for themselves?On 24
December 2004, the villagers of Lambung evacuated themselves
scatter to the high land. Some of them evacuated themselves in a
building of a Cultural Park (Taman Budaya) in Banda Aceh. On that
day the villagers did not get some foods from any parties, but on
the next day they get foods which brought by the tsunami and still
in good packing. In addition, they bought food with the rest of
their money as well. On the same day they move to Keutapang
Village, there they received aid from the local community in the
form of place to stay and foods. Three days after the tsunami the
villagers received the food from a local NGO.
2.5. Business Comunity1. Traditional cake, only produced if
reserved. Village leaders have already provided several stores on
the street Iskandar Muda to be used by villagers. But they dont
utilize the store as a business place, because they dont have the
fund to run business.2. Fish farming (from 2010-now). Farmed fish
include: Catfish, Tilapia, Carp and Pomfret. The farmers receive
fish seed and fish feed from the government approximately 3 times
per year. But the aid is still not sufficient for the farmer.3.
Handicraft (flowers, brooches, glass and womens accessories). It is
run by women in local village. So far they have not received
support from the government and other parties. Somehow they have
participated in several exhibitions to show their products.4.

2.6. CompostingIn 2009, villager in Lambung village received
approximately 40 Composter from government (DK3). Besides that, the
government provided training as well. But the villagers are not
interested to run composting project in their village, because the
government did not monitor the villager regularly. In addition, the
quantity of non organic waste in Lambung village is not enough to
process to be composting. The selling price of composting to the
purchaser is very low as well.

3.2. Tsunami drillIn 2008 and 2010 the tsunami drill in Alue
Deah Teungoh held by Development Planning Agency (BAPPEDA),
Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), and Tsunami and Disaster Mitigation
Research Center (TDMRC).
3.3. Escape BuildingIn 2012 most of villagers did not evacuate
themselves to escape building. Because according to resident, the
escape building is lower than tsunami waves which happened on 24
December. Therefore most of them evacuated themselves to the high
land.
3.4. How did villagers find the food for themselves?After
earthquake on 24 December 2004, villagers of ALue Deah Teungoh
evacuated themselves in a store of a resident in Lueng Bata. From
1st to 6th day after tsunami the villagers did not get foods from
government and other parties, only some of them visited their
relatives or families who not impacted by tsunami to get foods. On
the 7th day after tsunami, Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) brought the
villagers foods and medicine. In addition they got also foods
(rations) from Indonesian Police.
3.5. Business Community Workshop Shredded fish Fisherman Fish
salting Chickens, ducks and goats farming. The villagers do not get
aid from government in term of goats farming. According to local
regulation the goat farming in urban area is prohibited, because
the goats are possible to stray city center. The following are
pictures of goat bands belong to villager.
Dried fish (Ikan Kayu/keumamah) only produce when the price of
fresh fish is normal. In case of increasing of fresh fishs price,
ikan kayu only produced when reserved. Because it would be loss. So
far the villager has got some equipment for processing fish from
the government. In addition, the villager also invited by the
government to be trained in term of the processing of dried fish.

3.6. CompostingThe same as in Lambung, in 2009 villager in Alue
Deah Teungoh village received approximately 50 Composter from
