DANIELLE TROYANO Currently a Dancer with Ballet Idaho, USA
Professional Experience: Montgomery Ballet (USA) & Albany Berkshire Ballet (USA)
Graduated from SLK Ballet, New York City, USA
Quote: Mr. McIntyre presented me with my first professional contract with the Montgomery Ballet when I was 19. I was skeptical at first to sign, only because it meant a move to Alabama. I will always hold that decision close to my heart, as it was the best one that I’ve ever made. In the one season that I danced with Montgomery Ballet, I learned more about myself as a dancer than I’d ever known before. I was given many wonderful opportunities such as Snow Queen and Arabian in Darren’s version of “The Nutcracker,” and the lead in Darren’s original ballet “Liberty Bell.” These roles helped greatly in my maturity as an artist. Darren’s original work “Australia” was an exciting highlight for the whole company. It was challenging, but equally as rewarding to dance. The company was always pushed just the right amount. Darren coached us, guided us, and most importantly, cared tremendously for us. He cared greatly about making it a kind environment to work in, and I loved going to my job every day. I would not be where I am in my career if it weren’t for my year spent in Montgomery with Mr. McIntyre and am grateful for this opportunity.
LUCAS ATAIDE
Currently a Dancer with City Ballet of San Diego, USA
Professional Experience: Montgomery Ballet (USA) & Cia Brasileira de Ballet (Brazil).
Graduate of Conservatório Brasileiro de Dança, Brazil.
Quote: Mr. McIntyre extended an invitation to me to move to America and join Montgomery Ballet in Alabama as a Soloist dancer in 2013. I was promoted to Principal Dancer during my first production under his Artistic Direction. His coaching was inspiring and I performed in several of his restaging’s of the traditional repertory as well as was featured in several of his new creations. His artistry and sense of leadership is impressive and all the opportunities he gave me made me grow incredibly as an artist and also technically. The day would always have an amazing start every time he had time to teach company class and I'm grateful to have had him as a mentor and to have worked with him as my Ballet Master, Choreographer and Artistic Director.
(USA), Katy Hagelin Dance Project (USA), Redd Legg Dance (USA) & Ballet San Antonio (USA). Graduated with a BFA in Ballet from Belhaven University, USA Quote: "I worked with Mr. McIntyre for just over two years at the Montgomery Ballet, where I was
first a Soloist and later a Principal Dancer. I appreciated his ability to recognize and highlight the
strengths of each of his dancers while also providing us with challenges and opportunities to grow.
Highlights of my time with Mr. McIntyre include dancing the leading roles in his productions of
"Giselle", “The Sleeping Beauty”, “Don Quixote”, “Swan Lake” and "The Nutcracker" as well as
performing the role of Christine in his original production of "The Phantom of the Opera." Mr.
McIntyre approached each of his original works with a great deal of passion and a strong
commitment to his artistic vision. I feel fortunate to have worked with him, and I consider my time
under his directorship to be an important step in my career and my growth as an artist."
IZABELLY POSSATTO Currently a Principal Dancer with Lake Erie Ballet, USA
Professional Experience: Espaço da Dança (Brazil)
Graduated from School of the Bolshoi Theater in Brazil & from Escuela Nacional de Cuba
Quote: “It was a pleasure to have worked with Mr. McIntyre as a principal dancer at Lake Erie Ballet,
where I danced featured roles in ”The Wizard of Oz”, “Forlon”, “Spartan” as well as excerpts of
“Fairy Doll” (Pas de Trois) and “La Bayadère” (Grand Pas de Deux). Mr. McIntyre is an excellent
director and ballet master who challenged me as a dancer, making me improve and go forward
artistically and technically. He has a unique choreographic style and the talent to make dancers look
great and comfortable while dancing. He also has an extensive knowledge that includes more than
the classical repertory, and it helps him to show the dancer’s abilities and makes his original pieces
more enjoyable to perform and watch. His creativity and talent are two virtues that qualify and give
him full capacity as a director. Finally, Mr. McIntyre is enthusiastic with his work, which makes him
never stop to research and keep improving in the art’s field.”
