Bike and Pedestrian Master Plan Dandridge, Tennessee CASE STUDY Master Plan Process Aſter convening a central steering commiee, community feedback workshops were conducted in order to idenfy exisng opportunies and access gaps. Priority was given towards creang connectors between three major amenies within Dandridge: Field of Dreams Community Center; the historic Downtown and Water Front; and Maury Middle School. Throughout the enre process, regular community feedback was ulized for both design planning and reviews. Through these workshops and subsequent planning sessions, three alternave path choices were proposed. City of Dandridge, TN (Town of Dandridge Facebook) Dandridge Tennessee, located 30 miles East of Knoxville, is the state’s second oldest city and has a populaon of just over 16,000 people. Situated near major interstates and along the winding Douglas Lake, Dandridge is an aracve business desnaon, and experienced a doubling of its populaon between 1990 and 2015. Desiring to maintain its relave walkability and livability in the face of such drasc changes, Dandridge applied for and received a 2014 TDOT Community Transportaon Planning Grant to create a Bike and Pedestrian Master Plan. The master plan was to be implemented in conjuncon with the larger Dandridge riverfront redevelopment plan. Having mulple plans outlined provided several different opons which residents and city officials could vote on, to best address Dandridge’s current and future transportaon needs.
